The Senior Citizen

I CANNOT wait to get Dolce's feeding tube removed! I'm thinking he's going to be so much happier once he can get that thing out and can really start the healing process 100%. We're going back to the vet Tuesday evening...so cross your fingers!

Dolce is so funny, he comes to greet me when I get home from work with a little tail wag then stands on his back legs and puts his front paws on my leg, begging for some pets. This boy loves a nice back rub or belly rub on his cute Valentines Day blanket. He loves to cuddle but he's also very independent, he will get up and go to our bedroom and get into his bed and sleep for an hour or two while we're all hanging out in the living room. I like that he feels safe enough to leave the room and know that we will still be there when he gets back. Our other foster, Brownie has total separation anxiety and will pace the house until she knows where everyone is and what they are up to.

I was telling Brett last night how happy it made me to see Dolce asleep on his blanket on the couch all stretched out and dreaming. It seems really unfair that he had to experience such a huge portion of his life at the hands of such cruelty, but all that I can do is focus on the future he still has. He's my little senior citizen and I just love his skinny little bony body.
